Initial consultations are always free. Pricing varies depending on the scope of work involved. I will work with you to determine the components of your tax return and provide you with a list of recommended tax preparation and planning services, along with an estimate of the cost. For most tax returns, I charge a fixed fee or a narrow fee range rather than an hourly rate. However, some projects make more sense to bill at an hourly rate. If that is the case, you will be notified prior to the start of the project.
Yes. I accept new clients year-round. I welcome projects and tax inquiries from U.S. based clients and can work with you in person or remotely. Schedule a consultation to see how I can best serve you.
While there is no single structure that fits every business, many small businesses benefit from forming a limited liability company (LLC) for tax and liability reasons. However, in some cases, forming a corporation or partnership may be more appropriate. I advise clients on entity options after our initial consultation.
I have been a practicing public accountant for over 30 years. I co-managed a Washington, D.C.-based firm for 12 years, and I have operated my current firm, John Wall, CPA, in Manassas, Virginia, for over 15 years.
I help individuals and businesses with their federal and state tax planning, taking into account their various assets and liabilities. If you or your business needs other services, such as bookkeeping, financial advising, or legal support, I am happy to provide referrals.
My firm is located in Manassas, Virginia. However, I serve clients nationwide, providing remote tax services across the United States and internationally.
A contracted Chief Financial Officer (CFO) assists with a company’s financial decision-making, including business expansion, financing options, staffing decisions, and other strategic initiatives. I offer contracted CFO services to medium-sized businesses. In this role, I can provide experienced, objective insight, advice, and vision at a lower cost than employing a full-time CFO.
The easiest way to book a free consultation is to use the scheduling link on my website. Alternatively, you can email me at johnwall@johnwallcpa.com or call my office at 703-399-1381.
Yes. As part of my services, I determine the federal and state estimated quarterly tax payments you need. I also provide guidance on when and how to make them so you avoid penalties.
Yes, while I work with clients across many professions and industries, the entertainment industry is one of my niche areas. Services for film and entertainment include tax preparation and planning for entities and owners, assistance with entity selection, and contracted CFO services.
This is more common than you might think. If a tax return from a prior year, whether prepared by you or another firm, contains an error, my firm can prepare the necessary amended tax returns for you. My firm will work with you to correct the mistake and file your amended return.
Yes. Approximately 85% of my clients work with me remotely. I use phone and video calls, along with a secure email system, to exchange sensitive and personal documents with my clients, providing you with both security and convenience.
